The Lions’ top scorer, Meddie Kagere, said failing to get a chance to play for the team at different times was like a challenge that made him add even more effort.
He said perhaps a change of coach could get him back on track as everyone has their own options but even if he gets a few minutes to play he likes to do something to help the team appear to be there.
“If I get even a little bit of play time I would like to commit and help the team by scoring goals if I get a chance to do so or help someone else score according to the responsibilities of my position,” said Kagere, who has four goals in the Tanzania Premier League so far.
The Rwandan said his goal in the Lions squad this season is to make sure he gets a chance to play regularly and so that he can help the team.
Kagere said when he gets the chance the first role in his position is to score as many goals as he will get a chance to do so in order to achieve the team’s goal of winning every game.
He said after that other things like scoring more goals are coming right now and he needs to score 13 goals, as he did last season in the league.
“The league is the first in the sixth round and the competition is very strong in every team so it is too early to talk about more things and wait for the next games,” he added.
Kagere this season has scored four goals for Simba in the match against Dodoma City, Namungo, two against Ruvu Shooting and all of them were important as it gave the team the victory.
