WHILE the Lions are the first team in Africa to be coached by Pablo Franco Martin, fans of the team have been told not to expect new things from the coach soon.
Football stakeholders in the country have gone so far as to point out that, coach Pablo will need more time to learn than to add his skills to the squad soon.
Last night the club announced Pablo as head coach on a two-year contract replacing Didier Gomes who was sacked.
Although Pablo has coached various Spanish teams including Real Madrid when he was an assistant to Zinedine Zidane ‘Zizzou 2018/2019, he is experienced in European, Asian and Far East football and the Lions will be the first in Africa and it will take him some time to achieve his goals.
“In football not only is it aware of the talents, but also the behavior of the players, Pablo’s profile is well known, but the challenge he will face is to understand the character of African football,” said football analyst Ally Mayay.
Former Simba star Moses Mkandawile said Pablo now needs to get to know the players he met in Simba and their positions.
